Founded in 1976, - YES that is almost 50 years ago!!! - the Area 1 Quarter Horse Association was built on the strong foundation of a tight-knit community, passionate volunteers, and — most importantly — a deep and abiding love for the horse. This club has thrived thanks to the dedication and heart of its members. Recently, we’ve said goodbye to a few of those cherished members — the very people who helped lay the foundation of what this club is today. Their dedication and love for the club have left an enduring mark on Area 1, and their presence is deeply missed. To honour their memories, we were proud to present special Memorial High Point awards to some incredibly talented individuals. They serve not only as recognition, but as a tribute to the legacy of those who helped shape this club into what it is today. To the recipients: your dedication, talent, and love of the horse embody the very best of what Area 1 stands for.

 

To the families and friends of those we’ve lost: Their memory will always ride beside us. A very special thank you to Glenda and Ken McLellan.
